History & Evolution- Artificial Intelligence
The term “Artificial Intelligence” was coined by John McCarthy, an American Computer Scientist in 1956 through Dartmouth Conference which is considered the birth place of Artificial Intelligence.
Must-have skills for Data Scientists
Business Understanding - Ability to grasp and understand a business, ask relevant questions, and formulate a mental model.
Data Mining - Skillset to gather and crunch data as and when required. Ability to work with multiple databases and visualization tools
Data Cleaning - Ability to fix inconsistencies in data like missing values, redundant data, erroneous data and anomaly detection.
Feature Engineering - Identify relevant features in your data, eliminate the ones with high correlation and variability, understand scaling techniques, and introduce derived features.
Develop & Deploy Models - Understand data distributions, choose algorithms suitable for the data, develop proof of concept, deploy trained models into production systems, continuously monitor performance and model drift over time, and prediction explainability.
Story Telling - The most underrated skillset of all is the ability to explain the business impact of the model in the simplest way possible to a non-tech audience.
